Finn Carlsen


Director for Supervisory Activities, Petroleum Safety Authority Norway
Finn Carlsen graduated in 1986 with a M.Sc. in mathematics from the University of Bergen, Norway. He has industry experience from 4 years in Norsk Hydro related to ICT and statistics.

Mr. Carlsen was employed by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate in 1990, and held management positions within safety and resource management. From 2004 he has held the position as director for supervisory activities.

'Management of major risks'
In my speech I will cover environmental risk with focus on prevention of accidents that can harm the environment, personnel and investments.
The speech will focus on:
- developments in regulatory framework
- standardization
- environmental risks
- prevention of major accidents
- technology and operational challenges for operation in the high north – what need to be addressed by the industry.
