Project Manager for the Offshore Facilities, Snøhvit Future Development project, Statoil Sveinung received a MSc degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) 1985, Department of Marine Technology.
He has broad experience from the supplier industry within engineering, construction and marine operations. After joining Statoil in 1998, Sveinung has held several positions within offshore field development projects as well as technology development. Currently, he is the Project Manager for the Offshore Facilites on the Snøhvit Future Development project.

Since start-up of Snøhvit in 2007, the resource basis both in Snøhvit Unit and neighbouring licenses has significantly increased. This fact has provided an opportunity to review the original development scheme and explore new production alternatives. In order to define and mature a business case to realise this business opportunity several concepts comprising additional LNG capacity, pipeline export as well as lifetime extension of the existing LNG plant are explored.
